Richard Branson’s latest venture, Virgin Voyages, hasn’t hit the seas yet, but the cruise line is already out to prove it knows how to throw a great party. Over the weekend, Branson and his Virgin Voyages crew celebrated WorldPride in New York City, and announced a new LGBTQ+ charter cruise.
At Pride, Branson hopped on a custom Virgin Voyages party bus for a bar crawl alongside Billy Porter, Courtney Act, Ginger Minj, and Deborah Cox.
The LGBTQ+ charter, in partnership with Atlantis Events, will set sail on the Scarlet Lady during the ship’s inaugural season next year.
The exclusive voyage will feature a custom seven-night itinerary departing from Miami on May 31, 2020. It will makes stops in Key West, Florida; Cozumel/Playa Del Carmen and Costa Maya, Mexico as well as Bimini, Bahamas, home of Virgin Voyage’s Beach Club, a private club for guests (otherwise known as “sailors”) while onboard the Scarlet Lady.
“Virgin’s long history of celebrating diversity and inclusion combined with Virgin Voyages’ innovative one-of-a-kind Rebellious Luxe experience make them an absolutely perfect choice for Atlantis” Rich Campbell, president and CEO of Atlantis Events, said in a statement. “We can’t wait to join forces to thrill our guests in ways they never imagined!”
“We invite individuals from around the world to come together and unite on board our Lady Ships to have an incredible holiday, fueled by the diversity of our Sailors and crew, in addition to the amazing cultures we sail to,” Chris Stubbs, senior director of sailor experience, and the leader of LGBTQ+ advocacy for Virgin Voyages, added in the statement. “VirginVoyages welcomes everyone to come as they are and to be their best selves – with diverse hopes, experiences and backgrounds.”
Reservations for the cruise will go on sale in early July on AtlantisEvents.com.
